With the conclusion of its 2023 programme, TorinoFilmLab celebrates its commitment to nurturing serial content creators worldwide while announcing exciting opportunities for the upcoming 2024 season.

At the heart of TorinoFilmLab's mission lies SeriesLab, an initiative designed to explore the expanding landscape of independent series and dramas. Since its inception in 2017, SeriesLab has consistently adapted to industry trends, shaping the future of serial storytelling. The international cohort, comprising scriptwriters, writer-directors, and producers from 15 different countries, will present their creations to industry professionals at the Gropius Bau Cinema on Monday, February 19th, 2024. Under the guidance of seasoned mentors, including Filip Kasperaszek, Anne Feinsilber, and Luke Franklin, these storytellers have honed their craft with the support of leading organizations such as Millimeter Film, VAF - Flanders Audiovisual Fund and FOCAL. The event promises to be a platform for creative exchange and networking, connecting participants with key players in the TV industry.

In addition to SeriesLab, TorinoFilmLab will spotlight SeriesLab Talents, a programme designed to enhance the skills of professionals in drama series writing. Under the mentorship of Kirsten Ittershagen, five selected individuals have participated in intensive training, simulating the concept development process within a dynamic writers' room. Their showcase, scheduled for February 19th at the Gropius Bau Producers' Hub, promises insights into the evolving landscape of serial content creation.

Simultaneously, TorinoFilmLab invites aspiring serial content creators worldwide to apply for its 2024 programmes. SeriesLab 2024 offers participants the opportunity to develop nine international fiction TV series projects through a series of residential workshops and online sessions. The programme culminates in a development grant of €10,000 awarded to one outstanding project.

To complete TorinoFilmLab’s offer, this year begins the SeriesLab Story Editing training programme addressed to audiovisual professionals wishing to work with writers, writer-directors and their producers in the development stage of their fiction TV series projects. The aim of the initiative is to provide an insight into the development process of a fiction TV series – focusing on the early concept development stage. The 3 selected participants will work on 3 projects under the guidance of a story editing tutor with a wide international experience.
