Directive codifying the Audiovisual Media Services Directive 2010/13/EU

- The EU’s Audiovisual Media Services Directive has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Directive 2010/13/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 March 2010 refers to the coordination of certain provisions laid down by law, regulation or administrative action in Member States concerning the provision of audiovisual media services (Audiovisual Media Services Directive) (codified version) .

Directive 89/552/EEC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the coordination of certain provisions laid down by law, regulation or administrative action in Member States concerning the provision of audiovisual media services (the Audiovisual Media Services Directive) has been substantially amended several times. In the interests of clarity, it has now been codified. When this new Directive enters into force on 5 May 2010, it will repeal and replace Directive 89/552/EEC and its amendments, Directive 97/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and Directive 2007/65/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (Art. 1).
