MARGARETE STEIFF
synopsis
Set in the nineteenth century, the story of Margarete Steiff, who was crippled by disease from childhood and, during the early part of her life, was confined to her poor family home in rural Germany. Against overwhelming odds, through despair and desperation, Margarete fought her way out of her hopeless situation to become the legendary founder of the "Steiff" toy-empire, which achieved world-wide success with the invention of its fabled teddy-bear.
