THE YEAR OF THE FLOOD

by Jaime Chávarri

synopsis

It was a particularly hot summer, and Sister Consuelo, the mother superior of a religious order devoted to medical charity work, decides to go ahead with a project for transforming a run-down, practically useless country hospital into a modern nursing home fitted out with the most modern infrastructure. In order to finance the project, decides to visit a rich landowner, who lives in the area, Augusto Aixelá. As a result of this matter, their meetings bring about a closeness that leads to attraction, emotional upheaval and mutual discovery.
