Fadil Hadžić

(Bileća, 1922) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He is a founder of Telegram and Oko, art and culture magazines.

Hadžić initiated work on the first Croatian animated film Great meeting from 1951. He was a director of Duga film which is to constitute a core of future Zagreb School of Animated Picture. As the most performed drama writer of ex-Yugoslavia, he wrote 59 theatre comedies, of which many were staged abroad.

Hadžić initiated establishing of three theatres: Komedija, Jazavac (at present: Kerempuh) and Vidra. Currently he works as a novelist, painter and film director. He directed seventeen feature length films. (www.havc.hr)
