Kevin Macdonald

Kevin Macdonald was born in 1967 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is the grandson of filmmaker Emeric Pressburger, about whom he published a biography ‘The Life and Death of a Screen - writer’ in 1994. His grandfather was also the topic of his own first documentary, entitled THE MAKING OF AN ENGLISHMAN. He made his debut as a feature film director in 2006 with THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, which told the fictional story of Idi Amin’s Scottish personal physician. His made an appearance at the Berlinale in 2011 with a film distilled from his YouTube project LIFE IN A DAY. His documentary, MARLEY was screened at the 2012 Berlinale.
