“The Eurimages award is a very important initiative for us,” said Marion Döring director of the European Film Academy (EFA). “This year, we chose two professionals who have distinguished themselves not so much for individual films, but for a successful collaborative spirit and their ongoing deep involvement in various projects. These characteristics distinguish our European tradition and must be awarded”.

Roberto Olla, executive director of Eurimages and Italian sales agent Adriana Chiesa, member of the EFA board of directors, were present at the announcement. The latter emphasised how “important collaboration is today in Europe. The diversity of the countries meant as an exchange of a fundamental contribution in facing the crisis that we are all experiencing.” She added: I’m happy that finally in Rome a serious European market has been created”.

Elbaum and Thiltges have co-produced numerous films, by directors such as Sam Garbaski, Amos Kollek, Wang Bing, Faouzi Bensaidi, Jessica Woodworth, Jeanne Labrune, Frédéric Fonteyne and Marina de Van.
