by Italian director Michelangelo Frammartino (see interview) has won the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European Film in the Directors’ Fortnight.

The film (see news) will receive the support of the Europa Cinemas exhibitors with an extended run and additional promotion across the network.

The jury of four exhibitors wrote in their motivation: "Never didactic or sentimental, the director takes creative risks and manages to pull them off. At a time when original film-making is so threatened, we feel it is entirely appropriate to award [this film] and to offer European audiences the opportunity of enjoying such a life-affirming view of a remote corner of our continent".
