Polanski wins Bavarian Film Award
The Prime Minister of Bavaria presented Polish-born director Roman Polanski with the Bavarian Film Award - worth Euros250,000 - for his multiple award-winning feature, The Pianist [+see also:

The "Producers’ Award”, also worth Euros250,000, was won by two children’s films, Bibi Blocksberg and Das fliegende Klassenzimmer while Susanne Bier’s critical and popular hit, Nowhere in Africa received the Audience award. Chris Kraus won best new director for his feature debut, Shattered Glass based on Kraus’s eponymous novel.
