This is the latest in a series of prestigious awards for Italian cinema, with Taviani brothers winning the Berlinale Golden Bear and Matteo Garrone picking up the Cannes Grand Jury Prize.

At the 47th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (June 29 – July 7), one of the most important film events in eastern Europe, Marco Tullio Giordana’s film Piazza Fontana: The Italian Conspiracy [+see also:

The financial reward of 15,000 USD for the film, produced by Cattleya, Rai Cinema e Babe Films with support from MiBAC, is to be shared equally between the director (photo) and producers. The Italian Conspiracy has also picked up the Europa Cinema Label Award.
