EuroScreen goes worldwide

- The INTERREG IVC-funded project launches a new website

The Euroscreen project has launched a new website, euroscreen.org.uk, ­ which aims to improve the policies between the audiovisual industry and the tourism sector. Euroscreen is an INTERREG IVC-funded project covering eight countries (Italy, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK), which exploits the growing screen tourism phenomenon.

With studio-backed productions (Skyfall [+see also:

, UK) and TV series (Wallander, Sweden)working with tourism agencies, this sector is likely to bring remarkable economic and cultural opportunities. Running until 2014, EuroScreen aims to capitalise on these with the help of the lead agency Film London, working in close partnership with regional development agencies, local government, film commissions and a higher-education institution.

The EuroScreen website contains a constantly updated news section about screen tourism, downloadable policy material and other publications. A list of the events organised by the partnership across the participating countries is also available, including seminars and conferences with the aim to promote an exchange of ideas and practice among participants.
