Stars set to shine in 2013

Currently in post-production and production, a multitude of quality French titles are set to make for a very superior yield in 2013. Here's a quick non-exhaustive tour of the most awaited films and those that are most likely to be selected for the next great film festivals.

The films to be released during the first semester include Agnès Jaoui's Under the Rainbow (with Jean-Pierre Bacri and Agathe Bonitzer - to be released in France on March 6),Bruno Dumont's Camille Claudel 1915 (starring Juliette Binoche - due out on March 13 mars), Guillaume Nicloux's La Religieuse (with Isabelle Huppert, Louise Bourgoin, Martina Gedeck, and Pauline Etienne - due out in France on March 20) and Eric Rochant's Möbius (with Jean Dujardin, Cécile de France, and Tim Roth - due out on February 27).

On the Cannes horizon, the following titles stand out: Abdellatif Kechiche's Le bleu est une couleur chaude (with Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos), Arnaud Desplechin's Jimmy Picard (with Mathieu Amalric and Benicio del Toro), Pascale Ferran's Bird People (with Anaïs Demoustier and Josh Charles), Guillaume Canet'sBlood Ties (with Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, and Marion Cotillard), François Ozon's Jeune et jolieClaire Denis' Les salauds (with Vincent Lindon and Chiara Mastroianni), Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's French production Le passé (lit. "The past" - with Bérénice Bejo and Tahar Rahim), as well as Arnaud des Pallières' mysterious Michael Kohlhaas (with Danish star Mads Mikkelsen).

The following films are expected from up-and-coming filmmakers: Rebecca Zlotowski's Grand Central (with Léa Seydoux and Tahar Rahim), Riad Sattouf'Jacky in Women's Kingdom (with Vincent Lacoste, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Noémie Lvovsky, and Michel Hazanavicius), Serge Bozon's Tip Top (with Isabelle Huppert and Sandrine Kiberlain), Axelle Roppert's Tirez la langue, mademoiselleIsabelle Czajka's La vie domestique, as well as two films directed by Quentin DupieuxWrong Cops andRéalité.
