18/12/2012 - The Norwegian subsidiary of Swedish major Svensk Filmindustri partners with one of Norway's leading producers of commercials with three features in the pipeline

A year after Norwegian distributor SF Norge - the subsidiary of Swedish major, Svensk Filmindustri -  dismantled its in-house production arm, the company returns to local production, having purchased a 51% majority share in Norwegian production house Motion Blur.

"Motion Blur is a very exciting company with a great potential, and I am convinced that we will make a mark in Norwegian production," said Rasmus Ramstad, SF Norge chairman and president-CEO of the SF Group, who was especially looking forward to working with Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning, co-owners of the Norwegian shingle.

One of Norway's leading producers of commercials, founded by Sandberg, Rønning (who directed local blockbusters Max Manus [+see also:

film profile]) and Norwegian Hollywood-director Harald Zwart (The Pink Panther 2, Karate Kid, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), Motion Blur recently launched a feature operation with three titles to shoot from 2013.

"We are mainly producing commercials, but many of the directors and producers involved have a great desire to make features. Our aim is to become the most attractive producer in Norway, and with SF on board we have every chance to achieve this," said Motion Blur co-owner and CEO Espen Horn.

Svensk Filmindustri will distribute upcoming Motion Blur features on all media in the Scandinavian countries as well as handling international sales. - Operating between 2004-2011, SF Norge's own production shingle signed, among others, the Varg Veum franchise of 12 titles; it distributes Twentieth Century Fox, MGM, Warner Bros, Sony, Svensk acqusitions, adding domestic product from part-owned Filmkameratene, Cinenord-Cinenord Kidstory, Monster Film, Zwart Arbeit, 4½ Fiksjon and Mer Film.
