Italian cinema in a click: the Cinecittà App is born

A new app for the diffusion of Italian cinema has just been made available for free in the App Store, for interested people around the world. The Cinecittà App is the first app of its kind in terms of providing information on distribution of films, documentaries, shorts, news reports and photos for iPads and iPhones.

With 20,000 downloads for its Luce Archive image version, this application will enable users to access the great Luce Cinecittà library and receive updates from CinecittàNews as well as information on new films and photos entering the archive. Additional features include backstage footage, photos from Italian works of art and an interactive platform created by Ragù Communication for the distribution of audio and video content in Italy and abroad (the app is also available in English).

The app will also enable users to buy extra content on a monthly basis. The first such available packet is Viva l’Italia, an image story on the birth of Italy. Launching this first collection is Allo'nsanfan by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani.
