30/04/2013 - uMedia’s sales arm to handle international rights of Paul Andrew Williams film

uConnect, the sales division of uMedia, will handle international rights to Paul Andrew Williams’ Close Enough, starring Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell. Hiddleston (Avengers) is attached to play renowned photojournalist Robert Capa and Atwell (The Duchess [+see also:

film profile]) will portray Gerda Taro, an accomplished war photographer. Capa and Taro, who were born as Andrei Friedman and Gerda Pohorylles, reinvented themselves after fleeing the Nazis and falling deeply in love. They forged a new life together in Paris in 1934 where Capa would eventually create the world’s first photo agency Magnum in 1947.

Production companies are Camera Entertainment B.V. (The Netherlands), Kanzaman S.A. (Spain) and Steel Mill Pictures (UK).  Sim van Veen and Laurens Geels will produce the film with Ken Marshall, Denise O’Dell and Mark Albela as executive producers. UConnect’s Peter Rogers and Camera Entertainment’s Sim van Veen struck the deal.
