4th French Film Fest in Athens

- The Greek premiere of Chabrol's Fleur du Mal plus 14 Gallic titles in search of Greek distribution from 3-18 April

The French Embassy in Athens in collaboration with the French Institute, the Greek Film Centre, Unifrance, the agency for the promotion of French cinema abroad, and Greek distributors Rosebud and Playtime present the 4th festival of French cinema from 3-18 April 2003. The first week’s events will be held in the Greek Film Centre, with the French Institute hosting the second week.
The inaugural film is the Greek premiere of Claude Chabrol’s latest feature, La fleur du Mal and includes 14 recent French productions that are in search of Greek distribution.
The titles are Etre et avoir by Nicholas Philibert, winner of the best documentary award at last December’s European Film Awards, Lucas Belvaux's "Trilogy": Cavale [+see also:

The programme includes a retrospective of Alain Resnais' entire body of work.

The organisers will also pay tribute to the life and career of Daniel Toscan du Plantier, the late president of Unifrance and César Academie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma founder-member, with a special screening of Don Giovanni, directed by Joseph Losey and produced by Toscan.
