The Galway Film Fleadh, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, showcases films from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at the event, which is currently underway in the eponymous Irish town on the Atlantic. A total of five features will be shown that give a good idea of the range of films currently produced in Luxembourg.

 (Doudege wénkel) is a Luxembourg-language policier about a hotheaded policeman who investigates the death of his brother, who was also a colleague. The film was written by Fréderic Zeimet and director Christophe Wagner and examines the dark underbelly of the small country.

Blind Spot was produced by Claude Waringo for Samsa, just like Hot Hot Hot! [+see also:

, from Luxembourg director Beryl Koltz. The quirky English-language feature is set in an amusement park full of saunas and pools and the sight of naked visitors makes a middle-aged employee very uncomfortable.

 is a docu-fiction from German director Angela Cristlieb about Marc Rollinger, an extravagant Luxembourger who travels the world to watch different incarnations of the opera Don Giovanni. Amour Fou produced the film.

 was produced by Iris Films and is the feature fiction debut of French actress Sandrine Bonnaire. It looks at a divorced father and mother and the different ways they cope with the death of their child, already years ago.

Lastly, the beautifully hand-crafted animated film Ernest et Célestine [+see also:

will be screened, which was partially animated by Luxembourg outtfit Studio 352/Melusine Productions. Like Maddened by His Absence, the film originally premiered in Cannes. 

Besides film screenings, there's an exhibition of portraits by Luxembourg-based photographer Fabrizio Maltese and several networking events for attending Luxembourg and local producers. The Luxembourg Focus was organized by Luxembourg Film Fund.
