Written by Benoît Forgeard with Emmanuel Lautréamont, the screenplay is set in France in 2020. Michel Battement, the President’s advisor must urgently increase the popularity of the President in order to avoid the imminent fall of the regime. In the depths of the overcrowded basement of the Elysée, he summons a secret meeting, with the country’s best minds...   

Produced by Emmanuel Chaumet for Ecce Films, Gaz de France was pre-purchased by Ciné+ and benefits from backing from the Centre region and the Sofica Indéfilms. The four weeks of filming will take place in the Loiret region, in Briare. The French distribution will be handled by Shellac and international sales directly by Ecce Films (which has chosen to operate this way with all its productions).

Ecce Films is currently on a roll with its group of young filmmakers and its methods of rapid and small-budget productions. The Parisian company has thus produced the first features by Antonin Peretjatko (The Rendez-Vous of Déjà-Vu [+see also:
