Geneviève's directorial debut

by

The directorial feature debut of Luxembourg’s Geneviève Mersch, J'ai toujours voulu être une sainte (I Always Wanted to Be A Saint), is scheduled for a domestic release on 16 May. Written with Philippe Blasband, the film stars Marie Kremer, Camie Boel, Stasia Kremer and Thierry Lefèvre. J’ai toujours... is about a teenager called Norah, who feels she is personally responsible for all the ills that afflict the planet, including the death of a racing driver – an event she happened to be watching live on TV. The film was made last summer on location in Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and Portugal and was coproduced by Claude Waringo (Samsa film), Patrick Quinet (Artémis Productions) and Stéphane Quinet (Media Services), with financial support from the Grand Duchy’s National Fund for audiovisual production, Belgium’s French Community, Wallimage, broadcaster RTBF, Eurimages and the EU’s Media Programme.
