The missing calls for proposal under Creative Europe are here

The European Commission has gone through with the calls for proposal of the Media sub-programme of Creative Europe.

As the new programme officially recognises videogames as a Media target, one of the new calls is intended for their development.

Another one is for international co-production of films for theatre distribution.

Two calls are for actions and activities, such as online tools for professionals or common promotional activities, helping European audio-visual work access the market inside and outside Europe. The deadline for submission is March 7 and the activities must not start before June 2014. In case of willingness to establish a two-year partnership with the Media sub-programme, a Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) must be signed. The deadline for applications is June 6 in that case.

The Cinema Automatic Scheme, meant to enhance the distribution of non-national films in Europe, can cover co-production costs, the acquisition of distribution rights and spending linked to editing and promotion. To be eligible, movies must be mainly produced in Media countries and not have established their copyright before 2011. The call supporting sales agreements also aims at a better circulation of non-national films.

To boost the distribution of European movies, a special support is foreseen for cinemas promoting European production through education or promotional activities in cooperation with other platforms such as TV or VoD. Actions must last for one year in 2015. All cinemas (independent or part of a network) can apply, provided that they are situated in a Media country.

A special call has been published for audience development, one of the key priorities of Creative Europe. The target is to be reached through promotional events and film literacy. Each project must count on at least 10 films to apply, and 80% of them have to be non-national European movies, at least from 3 different countries and in 3 different languages.

The Media sub-programme can cover costs up to 60% (except for co-production  and the actions to access the market outside the Media countries where it can reach 80%)
