The film has sold to Japan (Nettai Museum), Australia and New Zealand (Madman), Italy (I Wonder), Scandinavia (Non Stop), Benelux (Wild Bunch), CIS (Cinema Prestige), Portugal (Lusomundo), Turkey (Bir Film), Israel (Lev Film), Poland (Gutek Film), Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia (ACFK/Mozinet), US (Magnolia) Middle East (Front Row) and Singapore (PT Parkit). Negotiations are ongoing for France. Curzon Film World will release the film in the UK after it premieres at Sundance London on April 25. 

Frank is a comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Gleeson), who discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins a band of eccentric pop musicians led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Fassbender) and his terrifying sidekick Clara (Gyllenhaal). 

The film is an Element Pictures (Ireland) and Runaway Fridge (UK) production with the backing of Film4, the British Film Institute and the Irish Film Board. Ed Guiney, David Barron and Stevie Lee produced, with Tessa Ross, Katherine Butler and Andrew Lowe serving as executive producers.

Protagonist’s sales slate includes Blowback, The Childhood of a Leader, The Lobster, Love & Friendship, Maggie’s Plan, Testament of Youth, Trespass Against Us, The Duke of Burgundy, Kill Command, Me Him Her, Monsters: Dark Continent, My Old Lady, Sword of Vengeance and Partisan.
