08/04/2014 - Producer Sandra Harms will be the head of Miso Film Sweden, already preparing a feature – 438 Days – and an eight-part thriller series for Sweden’s TV4

Danish producers Jonas Allen and Peter Bose, whose Copenhagen-based Miso Film is currently finishing Danish director Ole Bornedal’s historical epic 1864, have signed up Swedish producer Sandra Harms as head of their new Stockholm outfit, Miso Film Sweden.

film profile], Harms has started preparations for Vik/Stubö, an 8 x 45-minute thriller series commissioned by Sweden’s TV4. Based on Norwegian author Anne Holt’s novels, it will be scripted by Peter Thorsboe and Mai Broström; production is scheduled to start in early 2015.

Miso Film Sweden’s first feature will be adapted from 438 Days, the bestselling book by Swedish journalists Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye, describing the time they spent in an Ethiopian prison. Swedish scriptwriter Peter Birro, who most recently wrote Waltz for Monica [+see also:

“After a number of successful films and television series in Denmark (Dicte, Those Who Kill [+see also:

film profile]), it was an obvious next step for us to move into Sweden,” said Bose, who founded Miso with Allen in 2004 and in 2013 sold a majority stake of the company to worldwide operator FremantleMedia.

In Norway, Miso Film Norway’s chief, Brede Hovland, will later this month (24 April) start production for Acquitted, a 10 x 45-minute crime series written by Siv Rajendram Eliassen and Anna Bache-Wiig, which will be aired by Norwegian commercial broadcaster TV2 next year.

Starring Norwegian actor Nicolai Cleve Broch and Swedish actress Lena Endre, the €8.3 million series follows the return of a Norwegian businessman to his home town, where 20 years earlier he was accused, but acquitted, of having killed his high-school girlfriend.
