Ecocinema 2003 in Rhodes
The island of Rhodes is this year's meeting point for Ecocinema 2003, the international environmental film festival that will run from 14-20 September. The event is organised in collaboration with the Greek Film Centre and the UN organisation, Mediterranean Action Programme (MAP). Those interested in taking part are invited to fill in registration form and the deadline for submissions is 30 May 2003.
Ecocinema was first held in 2001 and as the title implies, is specialised in documentaries, short and feature-length films of an environmental or ecological nature where conservation is a key issue.
Documentaries and fictional films (either feature-length or shorts) are eligible to take part in the International Competition on condition they were produced during the last twenty-four months. The Greek Films Panorama section is dedicated to national productions and the winner will receive the first edition of the Special Audience Award from the Rhodes township.
