, a feature film in English about Princess Diana’s last love story, Oliver Hirschbiegel, who regularly directs American TV series, is now filming Georg Elser, about the carpenter and resistance fighter who tried to assassinate Hitler in Munich on 8 November 1939 and who, within just 13 minutes, if the Führer hadn’t left his podium earlier than planned, could have changed history.

Filming, which began yesterday in Wackershofen, in south Germany, will continue until the beginning of September in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin and South Tyrol.

The film is produced by Lucky Bird Pictures in coproduction with SWR, ARD Degeto, BR, WDR and Arte agencies as well as Delphi Medien, Philipp filmproduction and Broth Film. Georg Elser also received the support of FFF Bavaria, of MFG Baden-Württemberg, of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and of the South Tyrol BLS.
