adaptor Ask Hasselbalch are among the filmmakers who are receiving support from the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein for their new projects. In total, the Hamburg-based film fund has greenlit 24 projects for scriptwriting, production, post-production and distribution aid. Nine feature films and two animated movies will get fresh cash for their production.

Ulysses Filmproduktion will receive €650,000 to produce the animated family adventure Luis und die Freunde aus dem All by Christian and Wolfgang Lauenstein, in which an 11-year-old makes new friends when some zany aliens make a crash landing. A rabbit who lives in a big city and has to go to school will be brought to life for the 3D animated movie Die Häschenschule [+see also:

, for which German director Ute von Münchow-Pohl has adapted a 90-year-old picture book. Supported to the tune of €400,000, Akkord Filmproduktion will produce most of the movie at Hamburg-based Studio Rakete.

 by Ask Hasselbalch. Junafilm, the Hamburg-based partner of this German-Danish co-production, received a cash injection of €350,000 for this children’s adventure, which will start principal photography in July. Another sequel due to be shot in the north German metropolis is the bestselling crime story Flaskepost fra P, which Hans Petter Moland will bring to the big screen, calling on the services of such actors as Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Fares Fares. New production outfit Zentropa Hamburg, which was co-founded by 2014 Producer on the Move Henning Kamm (read the interview), will get €400,000 to help bring this project to fruition. 

Further projects include the children’s adventure Rico, Oskar und der Diebstahlstein by Neele Leana Vollmar (€300,000, Lieblingsfilm), the coming-of-age comedy So was von da by Philipp Kadelbach (€550,000, C-Films), the youth drama Es war einmal Indianerland by first-time director Ilker Çatak (€550,000, Riva Filmproduktion) and the divorce comedy Wer sich ewig bindet (€550,000, Relevant Film) by Hermine Huntgeburth. In addition, German writer-director Sven Taddicken will start shooting the secret love story Gleissendes Glück [+see also:

(€250,000, Frisbeefilms) with Martina Gedeck and Ulrich Tukur at the end of April, while Bergfilm will get €245,000 in support for the abuse drama Die Hände meine Mutter by Florian Eichinger, and Collina Filmproduktion will be granted €100,000 for Kai Wessel’s drama Nebel im August [+see also:
