by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino was awarded the Special Jury Mention at the 50th edition of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival. This trophy serves to highlight the huge amount of interest aroused by the only Italian film in competition at one of the most important European film gatherings.

Produced by Luca Guadagnino with his Frenesy Film Company, as well as by Marco Morabito, the movie has been requested by other festivals and by a number of international distributors. It has not yet secured national distribution, but according to the title’s press office, some deals are apparently being finalised.

The film retraces the last ten years in the life of poetess Antonia Pozzi (played by Linda Caridi), who lived in Milan during Mussolini’s dictatorship.

, which was honoured with the Právo Audience Award, voted for by an audience consisting of more than 75,000 people. It was actually Harvey Keitel, who co-stars with Michael Caine in the movie, who picked up the prize. In an interview with the festival daily, he stated: “It’s a very beautiful story and a complex one, in terms of the way we live our lives. There’s plenty to think about when you see it.”
