An adaptation of the eponymous first volume of the Le Journal d'Aurore (“Aurore’s Diary”) trilogy by Marie Desplechin, the story of Jamais contente was written by the novelist herself together with Émilie Deleuze, and Ivan and Laurent Guyot. The plot revolves around Aurore, a teenage girl. Some might say that she leads a simple life. But when you’re 13 years old and, like her, your perspective on boys, school, your family and your mates is simultaneously uncompromising and brimming with ridicule, everything begins to take on the guise of a blissful psychodrama. Especially with the arrival of a new French teacher, the threat of ending up in a boarding school, the fact that you repeatedly fall head over heels in love and you have the crazy idea of going on stage to be the singer in a group…

Produced by Patrick Sobelman for Agat Films & Cie, Jamais contente is co-produced by Ad Vitam (which will handle distribution in France). Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and OCS (second distribution window), the feature is also benefiting from the support of the Ile-de-France region, and the Cinémage, Soficinetv and La Banque Postale Image Soficas. International sales will be managed by Doc & Film.

For the record, Patrick Sobelman is the regular producer of films by Lucas Belvaux, Solveig Anspach, Marina de Van, Michel Spinosa and Isabelle Czajka. He also produced Taj Mahal [+see also:
