Support for 10 co-productions

At the latest meeting of the European film co-production fund, Eurimages, which took place in Riga, Latvia on 30 June, it was decided that a total of Euros3.78 would be put aside for 10international co-productions, with Euros364,000 going towards four titles with a minority German participation.

The four films in question are Dear Wendy by Thomas Vinterberg, produced by Lucky Punch and French slate, Sloat Machine/ Liberator 2; Bye-bye Blackbird by Robinson Savary, produced by France's Noé Productions, Luxembourg's Samsa Film and the UK's Ipso Facto Film; Sportsman of the Year by Holland's Misha Alexander, produced by the Netherlands' Staccato Films, Germany's Neue Impuls Film and the UK's Spice Factory; and My Friend Henry , produced for Germany by MMM Filmproduktion Zimmermann and Finland's Do Film.

The other six co-productions that will benefit from Eurimages' largesse are: Piccolo, Saxo et Compagnie, co-produced by Romania's Dacodac and France's Haut et Court; Wasser, by Udo Maurer and produced by Austria's LotusFilm and Luxembourg's Samsa Film; Marele jaf comunist by Romanian Alexandru Solomon and produced by Romania's Libra Film and France's Les Films d'Ici; Melegin Düsüsü (Angel's Fall) by Turkey's Semih Kaplanoglu and produced by Turkey's Kaplan Film with Greece's Inkas Film & TV Productions and Highway Productions; Madame Edouard by Belgium's Nadine Monfils, produced by France's Noe Productions, Belgium's Artemis and Luxembourg's Samsa Film, and Vendredi et Robinson by France's Yyvan Le Molne and produced by Belgium's AA Les Films Belges, France's Artisan, Italy's Classic Films and Slovacchia's C&C Partners.
