RELEASES France

The Scent of Iceland

by

Carole Scotta and Caroline Benjo’s distribution slate, Haut et Court, is releasing Icelander Dabur Kari’s hit, Noi the Albino, onto 45 French screens today, 9 July. The distributor used every instrument at its disposal –trailers, postering etc., to promote this multiple award-winning directorial debut.

Co-produced by Iceland (Zik Zak Filmworks, Essential Filmproduktion, M & M Productions).
Noi the Albino is the story of a young boy who dreams of leaving his snowbound Icelandic village and it stars a native of the island, Tòmas Lemarquis. The film was a huge hit with French critics who described it as a “snowbound Alien”. The film premiered in the Atéliers du Cinéma Européen section of the ongoing Paris Cinéma festival and has earned extremely positive word-of-mouth, all of which bodes well for Dagur Kari’s future career (don't miss our interview with Kari).
