Written by Giorgio Diritti, Tania Pedroni and Fredo Valla, the screenplay tells the story of Antonio Ligabue, an imaginative painter of the Naïve movement who painted tigers, gorillas, lions and jaguars living in the endless poplar woods of the Po floodplains. A hard life that was also somewhat of a fairytale: the story of a lonely and marginalised child who found a means of redemption in painting, allowing him to express himself and to be adored by the world. The extraordinary events that characterised Ligabue’s life offer an important starting point for reflection on the value of "diversity." Every person has a precious individuality that, beyond appearance, can be a gift for the whole community.

Filming on Hidden Away will begin in May 2018 and will mainly take place in the region of Reggio Emilia, focusing on the places where the great painter spent most of his life.

It's worth noting that Palomar, creator of great television hits such Montalbano and Braccialetti rossi, is currently working on the filming and development of two new international series in English: The Name of the Rose and Gheddafi. In cinemas, among recent productions, it has also produced the likes of Leopardi [+see also:
