PLACES #7: Location Tour set to return from 10-12 October

From 10-12 October 2018, PLACES, the annual Location Tour organised by the IDM Film Fund & Commission, will make a return to the South Tyrol region. A special tour of markedly cinematographic appeal will await producers, directors, location scouts, production coordinators and production managers hailing from Italy, Germany and Austria, who will soon be able to submit their applications to participate in the Tour to the IDM.

The leading lady of this year’s event will be the Alta Val Venosta (the Upper Venosta Valley), nestled between Switzerland and Austria in the westernmost confines of the Alto Adige region, home to forts, castles, bunkers, marble quarries and cities surrounded by medieval walls, still standing after all this time. Ancient archaeological sites and enchanting abbeys inhabit the lands between the peaceful mountain villages – lands which have been traversed over the centuries by pilgrims, merchants and would-be rulers who made their way along the ancient Roman trade route, “Claudia Augusta”.

While immersing themselves in history, culture and breath-taking views, producers and directors will have the opportunity to explore previously undiscovered corners of the region - ideal settings both for historical and modern-day films and TV series. Last but not least, this year’s PLACES #7 will, as always, provide participants with in-depth information on the funding opportunities offered by the IDM, as well as facilitating meetings with suppliers and professionals from the local area.
