Eurovisioni to discuss new strategies

The 17th edition of EUROVISIONI, International Cinema and Television Festival, will start on 19th October at Villa Medici in Rome. The event in Rome will continue until 22nd October, and this year will discuss the theme “New strategies and new means to support the audiovisual industry: the European and American models”.

Loic Hennekinne, French Ambassador to Italy, will open the convention at Villa Medici on Monday 20th October at 9:00 greeting those attending the inaugural session, which is open to the public. The session will be conducted by Luciana Castellina, member of the Eurovisioni advisory board, and delegates should include Bernard Miyet, president of SACEM and Eurovisioni; Giuseppe Sangiorgi, Italian Communications Authority commissioner; Jacques Delmoly, director European Commission, Media Plan; Olivier Carmet, director SACD; Ross Biggam, managing director ACT. The afternoon session, with atelier workshops, will be dedicated to discussions of: “The future of the MEDIA programme and television”, “New relationships between Pay TV and the European audiovisual film industry” and “Sporting rights: driving the audiovisual industry?”

During the Festival, there will be preview screenings of the following four European dramas: The heart of me (96’) by Thaddeus O’Sullivan, with Helena Bonham Carter, produced by Martin Pope with the BBC in association with Take 3, the Isle of Man Film Commission and Pandora; Saint-Germain ou la négociation (90’) by Gérard Corbiau, with Jean Rochefort, a co-production Dargaud_Marina with France 3 and Arte France; Im schatten der macht (All’ombra del potere)” (180’), a film about the last days of Willy Brandt’s chancellorship, by Oliver Storz , with Michael Mendel, produced by Ziegler Film in collaboration with NDR, MDR and Arte; and Carmen” (120’) by Vicente Aranda, with Paz Vega and Leonardo Sbaraglia, produced by Star Line productions in co-production with Planet Pictures, Parallel Pictures and with participation from TVE, Via Digital and Telemadrid.
