Notably starring Virginie Efira, Felix Lefebvre, Ariel Worthalter, Mathieu Demy, India Hair, Alexis Tonetti and Andrea Brusque in lead roles, the French director’s first feature film revolves around Sylvie who lives in Brest with her two children, Sofiane and Jean-Jacques. Together they form a tight, happy family. One night, Sofiane hurts himself, alone in the apartment while his mother is out at work. The incident is reported and Sofiane is placed in foster care. Armed with a lawyer, her brothers and her children’s love, Sylvie is confident she can overcome the bureaucratic and legal machine… A Curiosa Films production, the movie is set to be distributed in France by Ad Vitam.

Set to be bolstered by two imminent announcements, France TV Distribution’s line-up also consists of four titles showing in market screenings, including Mr. Blake At Your Service! by Gilles Legardinier, who has adapted his own novel while assembling John Malkovich, Fanny Ardant and Emilie Dequenne to lead his cast. The film follows in the footsteps of Mr. Blake. When the latter turns up at the Domaine de Beauvillier estate, everyone – the manor’s owner, staff and the residence itself – are all as badly off as he is! But unlike Mr. Blake, who has come to this familiar abode merely to collect his thoughts, the other protagonists are in the throes of tackling their respective personal problems. The arrival of this very British guest acts as a catalyst… Produced by France’s Superprod and Luxembourg’s Bidibul Productions, the film will be distributed in France on 1 November by Universal Pictures International France.

Also worth a mention are the market screenings which are on the agenda for the French-Lebanese co-production Mother Valley by Carlos Chahine (starring Nathalie Baye and Pierre Rochefort – due for release in France on 14 June via JHR Films and Jour2Fête), for the documentary Slava Ukraini by Bernard-Henri Levy and Marc Roussel, and for Sugar and Stars by Sebastien Tulard.
