04/03/2024 - The unmissable animation co-production forum will take place from 5 to 7 March in Bordeaux with 55 feature films showcased, from the concept to the sneak preview

Nearly 850 animation professionals (producers, distributors, broadcasters, financiers) will join Bordeaux tomorrow to take part from 5 to 7 March in the 26th edition of Cartoon Movie, the n°1 co-production forum for the genre in the world. On the menu of the selection, we find 55 animated feature films (13 at the concept stage, 34 in development, four in production and four in sneak preview) coming from 16 countries. 15 projects are originating from France, 9 from the Nordic countries (four are Norwegian, two are Swedish, two are Danis and one is Finnish), six from Central Europe (three are Polish, two are Czech and one is Hungarian), five are German, five Belgian, five Spanish, three Italian, three from Luxembourg, two from Ireland, one Portuguese and one Dutch. It is worth noting that 65% of the films are produced by two countries or more.

The projects aimed at a family audience remain dominant (32 titles), followed by those designed for adults and young adults (10 titles), children (9 projects), adolescents (2) and the very young (2). Adventure is the main genre (60% of projects), but comedy, drama, action, documentary, musical, fantasy and science fiction are also represented, across a very wide array of themes which includes, among others, friendship, the environment, inclusion, harassment, migration, and health.
