Yesterday, the E.U. pavilion in the Cannes International Village, hosted the presentation of MEDIA Salles upcoming projects aiming at promotion European films, as well as the launching of their third 2005 issue of “European Cinema Journal” (already available online in the institution website.)

The 2005 edition of Focus On Europe will be taking place once again the Cinema Expo International, in Amsterdam between the 27th and the 30th of June. The opening seminar – “Will digital be the Savior of European Film?” - opened to all the exhibitors, will be followed by several screenings of European films considered as having a good international circulation and distribution potential. The Closing Gala will present the “European Producer of the Year” Award. In 2004, the award was granted to the Danish producer Peter Aalbaek Jensen, who founded Zentropa Films with Lars Von Trier.

MEDIA Salles will also launch the initiave “Italian Cinema Worldwide”, which aims at increasing the visibility of Italian productions in the most important professional gatherings of exhibitors and film distributors. This new scheme will particularly focus on markets of special interest in terms of their size and potential such as the Eastern Europe and the Far East.
