by Austrian director Michael Haneke has been awarded today as the best film in official selection by the Fipresci Jury (International Federation of Film Critics.) Produced and sold by the French company Les Films du Losange, Caché is a coproduction with Wega Film (Austria), Bavaria Film (Germany) and BIM Distribuzione (Italy.)

The Jury presided over by German critic Klaus Eder has also honoured Sangre by Mexican director Amat Escalante as the best film in the Un Certain Regard section. This debut feature film has been produced by the French company Ad Vitam and is internationally sold by Funny Balloons. Finally, in the both parallel sections of the Critic's Week and the Directors' Fortnight, the Fipresci Award has been given to Crying Fist a film shown in the framework of the Directors' Fortnight and directed by South Korean Ryoo Seung-wan.
