Created in 1999 by Vincent Tavier, Guillaume Malandrin, Philippe Kaufmann and Stéphane Vuillet, La Parti Production comes from the C'est arrivé près de chez vous generation, on which Vincent Tavier worked as scriptwriter and actor. Ploughing a separate furrow, this production house has a caustic sense of humour and already boasts two UFOs in its catalogue. Filmed in 4 weeks with a team of ten and from a screenplay of 15 pages, Aaltra by Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kerven has done the tour of festivals and won over the critics. Sold to various countries in Europe (Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Scandinavia...), the film comes out soon in the USA and Japan, and Calvaire [+see also:

, the first feature by Fabrice du Welz was selected last year in the Cannes Critics Week, receiving the 20th Special Mention prize, and was described by the learned group of critics as a work that is both original and anti-conformist.

These days, La Parti has an abundance of projects. Following the short film by Martine Doyen, Pâques au Tison, La Parti produced her first feature, currently shooting. A co-production with OF2B, Komma [+see also:

managed to draw to the set the Flemish singer Arno, a loudmouth character who is notoriously difficult to work with. Distributed by Cinéart in Belgium and by Rezo Films in France, it might be showing at Rotterdam or Berlin. In production with the animated film Nuages, by Frenchman Jérôme Boulbès, La Parti carries on work initiated by Pic Pic André on the animated series Panic au Village, while preparing the feature film version of the same name for May 2006. Still on the Flemish side of things, it is producing with Lumière Producties the second feature, after Rosie, by Flemish Patrice Toy and crosses the border as a minority co-producer with Holland on the third feature (following La Robe and Les Habitants) by brothers Alex et Marc van Warmerdam. The film received support from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund and shoot start shooting in September.

As for the foursome that makes up la Parti, Guillaume Malandrin last year directed a 68 minutes film on DV, Ca m'est égal si demain n'arrive pas and is currently preparing the shoot for Où est la main de l'homme sans tête [+see also:

, Stéphane Vuillet has co-written a second feature, with the working title, Le Jour des enfants, with Yvan Char, Belgian director of joueur d'échec and Vacances. As for Vincent Tavier, he’s working on a feature project provisionally called, Syndrome Y.
