, the Slovakian company ALEF Film & Media Group is preparing an Autumn shoot for the third feature by Juraj Nvota: Music (Muzika). Co-produced by the Germany company box! Film- und Fernsehproduktions (Berlin), the film retraces the misadventures of three musicians who dream of success, concentrating on the tragi-comic fate of the most of talented among them. Hardly aware of his artistic qualities, the young man allows himself to get into destructive relationships, heading towards a freedom that has a high price. Written by Ondrej Sulaj adapted from the book by Peter Pistanek, the screenplay for this black comedy was developed with aid from the EU Media + Programme. The first Slovakian production to have German partners, around 275 000 euros from Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Music also received 180.000 euros last April from Eurimages and had a total budget of 1,1 million euros covered by Alef at 54 % and by Box ! Film at 46 %. Shooting should start on the 15th September until November in Bratislava and in the Hautes Tatras, the highest point of the Carpathian Mountains, and in other locations in Slovakia and in Poland. Cinema release is scheduled for April 2006.
