Sun shining, raining prizes


For its second edition, the Venice-Days (an independent section running during the Venice festival, launched by the A.N.A.C. and the authors of the A.P.I., and headed by Giorgio Gosetti) proved once again that this excellent event is of major interest. Last Saturday, half of the films selected were awarded prizes:

The winners, five of which are European:
13 (Tzameti) by Gela Babluani, Luigi De Laurentiis award at the 62nd Mostra Internazionale di Arte Cinematografica
Craj-Domani by Davide Marengo, Lino Micciché award by CSC for the Best First Feature
Elio Petri. Notes on a Filmmaker by Federico Bacci, Stefano Leone, and Nicola Guarneri, Francesco Pasinetti award (SNGCI)
Falling... in love by WANG Ming-tai, City of Vasto award
Bimbi neri notti bianche by Giulio Manfredonia, Human Rights Film Award - European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC)

Within the framework of Venice-Days, Le petit lieutenant by Xavier Beauvois received the Label Europa Cinemas and 13 (Tzameti) won the Netpac Award- Venice 2005.
