A European short film festival in Ludwigsburg
This week, Ludwigsburg houses the 7th Kurzfilmbiennale (European Short Film Biennale, 12-18 September). 74 shorts selected among 700 works and competing for a total of 52,500 euros will represent the whole of Europe on the campus of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy.
The screenings, often attended by the directors and followed by debates, fall into 15 categories. One of this year's special features is the sidebar 'Focus Finland'. Amongst the most-awaited programmes, there is also 'Face to face' (which will allow the public to get a glimpse of what daily life is like is Islamic countries) and 'Both Ends Burning', a collection of films, videos and installations on pop culture and entropy.
