Produced by Margaret Menegoz for Les Films du Losange which put 41% of the financing, Hidden was co-produced with the Austrian Wega Film (39%), the German Bavaria Film(10%) et the Italian BIM Distribuzione (10%). The film had a 8,5 M€ budget, also involving a 500 000 € financial support from ARTE as a co-producer, a 350 000 € injection from the CNC’s Advance on receipts, plus 500 000 € from France 3 Cinéma, an extra amount from the German TV co-producers ORF Film/Fernseh-Abkommen, 600 000 € from Eurimages and 320 000 € from the MEDIA Programme of the UE.

International sales:
Sold internationally by Les Films du Losange, Hidden was bought by 52 territories in total. Thanks to the film’s successful launch in Cannes 2005, the sales team headed by Daniela Elstner sold the film everywhere in Europe: Artificial Eye for the UK, Cinéart-Cinélibrethe Benelux, Golem Distribución for Spain, BIM Distribuzione for Italy, Frenetic Films for Switzerland, Camera Film for Denmark, Triangelfilm for Sweden, Arthaus for Norway, Future Films for Finland, Monolith for Poland, Budapest Film for Hungary, Intersonic for the Czech Republic, Rosebud for Greece and Prokino Filmverleih for Germany.

Also worth mentioning, are the sales in the US (Sony), where the film will be presented for the closing night at the New york Film Festival and will premier in cinemas December 23rd in Australia, Russia, Japan, Iceland, Turkey, China, Thailand, Hong-Kong and throughout all of Latin America.

Hidden will be released in France on October 5 by Les Films du Losange with 155 prints, then on October 14 in Italy and in Sweden, on October 26 in Belgium, October 28 in Germany, January 26, 2006 in the UK and February 2 in the Netherlands.
