Daniel Sánchez Arévalo wins Europa Cinemas Label

by Spanish director Daniel Sánchez Arévalo (see interview) was awarded the Europa Cinemas Label prize, announced today by a jury of four exhibitors.

The film was produced by Tesela Producciones Cinematograficas and is being sold internationally by Sogepaq, which has closed various distribution deals for Europe’s principle territories.

The Europa Cinemas Label award, given for the third consecutive year for the Best European film of Venice Days follows prizes that the Label already took bestowed to films of the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, Berlin’s Panorama section and at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Written and directed by Sánchez Arévalo, DarkBlueAlmostBlack stars Quim Gutiérrez, Marta Etura, Antonio de la Torre, Héctor Colomé, Raúl Arévalo, Eva Pallarés, Manuel Morón, Ana Wagener and Roberto Enriquez, and was produced by José Antonio Félez.
