Winner with Versailles at Emergence 2007 (Marcoussis University Summer School), Schoeller’s writing credits include Jean-Pierre Limosin’s Carmen [+see also:

In 2002, he also directed for ARTE the television film Zéro Défaut, which screened at many international festivals (FIPA Biarritz, Raindance London, Rio).
The story of Versailles revolves around Nina, a young woman in her twenties who moves from one hotel room to the next each month with her four year-old son and works temporary jobs, most often at night. Living in constant fear that her child will be taken away from her, she flees the homes and emergency housing centres that take her in but could also separate her from her son.
Produced by Géraldine Michelot for Les Films Pelléas, the €3.4m Versailles was funded by CNC advances on receipts (€418,000), the Ile-de-France, pre-sales from Canal +, backing from the Fondation Gan and a Scriptreading Award from the 2007 Angers Premiers Plans Festival.
The 11-week shoot will take place in Paris and Chartres until November 24 with one last part of filming to take place in January. French distribution and international sales are being handled by Les Films du Losange.
