, whose inclusion in the official competition was announced this morning.

With Restless, Kollek departs from the subject of women’s lives, which has been the focus of his films to date ( Forever Lulu, Sue, Queenie in Love), to tell a male-centred story about the troubled relationship between a father and son.

Abandoned by his father, who disappeared to Canada when he was born in order to make his fortune, the son now tracks down his absent parent and gets back in contact with him.

Restless is co-produced by the Belgian production company headed by Marylin Watelet, Paradise Films (also co-producers of Chantal Akerman’s films), with Hamon Hafakot in Israel, German company Twenty Visions, Canada’s Amérique Film and the French production company headed by Patrick Quinet (Artémis Productions), Liaison Cinématographique.

Sold internationally by Bavaria, Restless received production funding of €110,000 from the Cinema and Audiovisual Centre of the French Community of Belgium.
