Strong British presence in Sundance line-up

The ongoing Sundance Film Festival boasts a stellar selection of British cinema with 23 films chosen, including seven features, four documentaries and 12 shorts.

was chosen as the opening night film while eight other British films will have their world premiere at the festival.

Sundance Director Geoffrey Gilmore said: “With more films represented in the World Documentary competition than any other country, the British filmmakers have clearly broken through to the United States audiences, and they exemplify the possibilities for other countries seeking to bring international cinema to the United States.”

Lenny Crooks, head of the New Cinema Fund, said: “Sundance is a festival which programs only the best in independent films and to have so many UK short and feature filmmakers finding success there is particularly rewarding.”
