Shooting on the third instalment of Vivian Naefe’s successful series of teenage films The Wild Chicks began on June 17 in Recklinghausen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, whose regional fund helped finance the project.

Actors and crew on the new film, entitled The Wild Chicks and Life, will stay in the region until shooting wraps up on August 16 but filming will also take place around Cologne.

The Wild Chicks series – which recounts the adventures and thrills of a joyful group of five young teenagers – is based on the best-selling novels of Cornelia Funke. For the third film (following The Wild Chicks [+see also:

The entire team are reunited, from the actors (including adult stars Veronica Ferres, Benno Fürmann, Jessica Schwarz and Doris Schade) to the two producers Peter Zenk and Uschi Reich.

The Wild Chicks and Life is produced by Bavaria in co-production with ZDF and Constantin. The latter will release the film in theatres early next year.
