Three German (co)productions have been selected for the upcoming Sundance Film Festival (January 15-25, 2009).

film profile] by Oskar Roehler will make its world premiere in the World Cinema dramatic competition, where it will compete with Oliver Hirschbiegel’s British title Five Minutes of Heaven [+see also:

The sidebar section Spectrum will feature The Anarchist's Wife [+see also:

film profile] by Peter Sehr and Marie-Noëlle Sehr, as well as the German/Canadian co-production Helen by Sandra Nettelbeck, who also wrote the screenplay.
As a way of drawing more attention to international screenwriters, cinematographers and editors, the films presented in the World Cinema competition also vie for awards for Best Director, Best Editor, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography, as well as the respective jury prizes.
