It was from the hands of the European Commissioner for Culture, Androulla Vassiliou, that Paolo Sorrentino’s team received the prize for Best Film during the 26th ceremony of the European Film Awards (EFA), which took place in Berlin on Saturday night. The director of The Great Beauty [+see also:

 was not present because he was on the jury of the Marrakech Film Festival, but his masterpiece, which had left the last Cannes Film Festival empty-handed, made a come back by winning four EFA: Sorrentino was rewarded for Best Director and Toni Servillo for Best Actor while Best Editing had been awarded to Cristiano Travaglioli with a prize announced last October (read the news on technical awards).
