, Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf shares his egalitarian and libertarian view of today's cinema with Cineuropa.

He says, “Love of creation and responsibility for society, mixed with talent, are the future of good cinema.” Makhmalbaf thus highlights the importance of love and art in a world in which everything is becoming a form of business.

This interview is part of a project organised by the ARP, the SAA and the SACD, aimed at encouraging cultural exchange between France and other European countries. This is achieved through the premiere of a movie and a debate with the director about the European film industry.
