American actor, director, screenwriter, producer and musician Tim Robbins (who won a best supporting actor Oscar for Mystic River and received a best director Oscar nomination for Dead Man Walking) will receive the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema at the upcoming edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where Terry Gilliam will also be in attendance to introduce his latest, long-awaited offering The Man Who Killed Don Quixote [+lee también:

This 53rd edition of the festival will also play host to Oscar-winning actress Anna Paquin, and actor-director Stephen Moyer who will present his feature-length debut The Parting Glass, in the company of the film’s screenwriter and co-star, Denis O’Hare, and producer Cerise Hallam Larkin.
Other familiar faces will include American actor Rory Cochrane, known for his role in the television crime series CSI: Miami, who will be presenting one of his latest films, Hostiles directed by Scott Cooper, alongside producer John Lesher (Birdman), while emerging New Zealand actress Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie of Winter’s Bone and The Hobbit – Battle of the Five Armies will be introducing Leave No Trace, directed by Debra Granik. The actress is currently hard at work in Prague shooting Taika Waititi’s next feature, Jojo Rabbit. Actor Caleb Landry Jones (Twin Peaks: The Return, The Florida Project, Get Out, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) will travel to Karlovy Vary to introduce To the Night [+lee también:
ficha del filme], a feature battling it out in the main competition and directed by Peter Brunner. Finally, French filmmaker Romain Gavras will also be showcasing his latest offering, The World is Yours [+lee también:

ficha del filme] will wrap this year’s KVIFF.
On the industry programme side, 38 projects from a total of three hundred submissions, all in various stages of development, will be presented to a host of industry professionals as part of the new KVIFF Eastern Promises platform, which looks to extend the Central and Eastern European territory to the Middle East.
The 53rd edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival will run from 29 June-7 July 2018.
